It is a shape
acquisition which generates a virtual 3D model
of the investigated object. Depending on requirements
such as e.g. accuracy and time to model and
constrains due to e.g. location or object’s
surface properties, the device to be used can
be selected among a laser light scanner,
a fringe projection system
or a photogrammetric camera.
The acquisition is performed with a standardized
procedure, implying the device prior lab calibration,
an on-site calibration, stable set-up, sensitivity,
filters, and radiation source, whose characteristics
are mentioned in the technical report.
This will be provided together with the acquired
and processed data. Data will be provided in
standard format (vrlm or similar, as agreed
upon) on a CD or DVD. By means of automatic
3D printing and molding it is also possible
to obtain faithful 3D reproductions of the virtual
3D model*.
* Prototyping price is not included in the standard
service price.
Average acquisition time: depending on the
technique and on the investigated object.
